Město podpoří dostavbu dvou stadionů
V roce 2015 bude Olomouc hostit jednu skupinu Mistrovství Evropy do 21 let. Pro tuto celoevropsky prestižní sportovní i společenskou událost je nejprve zapotřebí dobudovat a rekonstruovat dva olomoucké stadiony. Radní na včerejším jednání schválili záměr podílet se na finančních nákladech obou staveb.
„Podporu pořádání takové výjimečné sportovní akce jsme deklarovali už v letech 2012 a 2013,“ říká primátor Martin Major. Utkání se budou hrát na Andrově stadionu, k tréninku reprezentačních celků bude využíván i tréninkový areál mládeže v Řepčíně, těchto dvou sportovišť se tedy projekt rekonstrukce týká. Po dobudování nejstarší tribuny Androva stadionu bude tento fotbalový stánek splňovat nejpřísnější mezinárodní kritéria a upevní svou pozici nejkvalitnějšího areálu na Moravě, srovnatelného třeba se stadiony obou pražských S. Zdokonalení stadionu pak umožní, aby se i v budoucnu v Olomouci hrála mezistátní utkání. V případě řepčínského stadionu, který dnes využívá veškerá mládež Sigmy Olomouc, půjde o dobudování zázemí a také osvětlení hrací plochy. „Statutární město Olomouc se nyní zavazuje, že podpoří projekt rekonstrukce a dobudování obou sportovišť finanční částkou do deseti procent celkových rozpočtových nákladů, nejméně pak částkou 7,5 milionu korun.“ Z letošního rozpočtu by to měla být suma 4 miliony korun, z rozpočtu v roce 2015 pak částka ve výši 3,5 milionu korun. Podmínkou finanční účasti města je, že oba projekty budou financovány převážně z rozpočtu Ministerstva školství mládeže a tělovýchovy. Finanční spoluúčast města musí schválit ještě zastupitelstvo.
Zájem Evropského fotbalového svazu UEFA na zajištění perfektního zázemí pro evropský šampionát potvrdí blížící se návštěva vysokých představitelů této instituce, zastřešující celý evropský fotbal. V Olomouci totiž bude 26. března probíhat inspekce UEFA, která má na programu mimo jiné také přijetí u primátora Martina Majora.
